Can you believe our little guy? The above pics are from the scale at the doctor's office at 5 days, 1 month, 3months, and 6 months. (Don't know what happened to the 2 month visit picture.) He almost looks bigger in the 3 month picture than the sixth month, but I promise you he has been growing! Thank goodness we've got some great friends and family who have been generous with the hand-me-downs. At his sixth month visit he weighed just under 16 lbs and measured almost 28 inches. Quite perfect in my book.
So....what's he like these days? Still (prayer hands in front of chest, thank you Lord) quite the laid back baby. He eats well, sleeps well, and is an all around happy guy. We've been so much more adventurous with baby food this time and its made a big difference. He's really only turned away from carrots and canteloupe, but loves avocado, chicken, spaghetti, squash, butterbeans, etc., etc. If I can put it in a food mill or my mini food processor, its on the menu basically. He's really gotten the hang lately of picking up something from his tray and getting it into his mouth. Of course, 75% of that still ends up in the bottom of his bib. He's started eating Rice Krispies for breakfast (with Mommy milk, of course) and its pretty darn cute the four of us sitting around the breakfast table with our cereal. Its also becoming quite obvious that he tries and eats way more things than Carson does now. Tim loves to point this out to her on a regular basis. Its not had an effect thus far. She's still holding tight to her wedding reception fare - chicken strips, fruit, cheese, crackers, an occasional grilled cheese or slice of pizza, and of course, anything sweet.
He likes to sleep as much as his mother does. And yes, I know, teeth are just around the corner, so my bliss will be coming to an end soon. But I'm so enjoying it now!
He's got a few tricks too. He loves to blow raspberries - when I'm wiping his mouth, when he's on the changing table, pretty much any time he wants attention. He likes to stick out his tongue, too. He's been sucking his thumb on occasion, but its been more of an attention-getter than a soothing thing. He's still looking for that pacifier at bedtime.
And, Hunter LOVES his sister. Anything she does is beyond cool. She can always make him laugh and smile. Carson has been so helpful to keep him entertained when I need another minute or two to finish something up. Although now that he's learned to pull her hair, she tends to stay a step or two away from him while she occupies his attention.
In less than a week, Hunter will be 7 months old. This has been the fastest year of my life.
